Hug! Today’s yoga practice included exploring what it feels like to hug yourself. How often do we take the time to embrace ourselves, literally or figuratively? Not often enough.
I allowed myself grace yesterday when I accepted that I didn’t have the time or energy for the Day 5 “Hug” practice. While the perfectionist in me wanted to push through and complete the daily practice consecutively, I reminded myself there were many paths for a yoga journey.
The daily practices don’t have to be consecutive. I wasn’t letting anyone down by postponing my practice. I was honoring my depleted state, creating space to recharge, and bringing more playful energy to my mat today.
I figuratively hugged myself yesterday, then literally hugged myself today.
