Panchakarma integration is not about being perfect; it’s about the 80/20 rule of grace. One month after descending the mountain, I’ve realized that the ‘SoHum Glow’ isn’t just a temporary vacation effect—it’s the result of building internal scaffolding to support a new way of being.
A week ago, I arrived on the mountain exhausted and seeking a sanctuary. On my final day, in a room full of strangers and a sudden snowstorm, I realized I had become the sanctuary. From an impromptu yoga class to a ‘blur of grace’ arrival home, this is how I officially stepped into the light.
I awoke to delicate snow flurries and a marked drop in temperature. For my PK cohort, the day signaled the physical transition toward home. For me, the bonus day I manifested was about to shift from a restful stay in the SoHum bubble to my first real-world test of protecting my peace.
Saturday was a shift from clearing to celebrating. Between a creative vision for a “SoHum Heart” and a perfectly timed snowstorm that granted me a bonus day, I learned that when we get quiet enough to set an intention, the universe has a beautiful way of answering.
Friday marked the shift from physical release to intentional planning. Between the centering movements of the Homa ceremony and crafting my Seven Pillars of Wellness blueprint, I embraced the 80/20 rule to balance discipline with flexibility. With my ama cleared, I’m returning home with one firm intention: I protect my peace.
After the intensity of the “big release,” Day 5 was a day for soaking up wisdom. From a solitary cedar soak to a transformative consultation with Dr. Lad, I learned to hit the “squelch button” on life’s static and received a call to live as a “seeker.”
If the first three days were about emotional release, Day 4 was the mid-week peak, when the mental and physical release occurred. Guided by the mantra “Care, but don’t carry,” I navigated a challenging night of intensive clearing. I emerged lighter, unburdened, and ready to receive the wisdom waiting for me.
Tuesday marked the Lunar New Year, a transition from the shedding energy of the Snake into the dynamic forward motion of the Fire Horse. Between the golden lens of ancient eye treatments and filming an origami tutorial, I discovered that healing is about embracing our perfectly imperfect hearts.
On my first full day at SoHum, the schedule was designed to teach me a subtle, profound skill: the art of receiving. Through four-handed oil treatments, the vibrational shift of color therapy, and the quiet meditation of folding origami hearts, I immersed myself into the intention of releasing stress and welcoming peace.
From the devotional flames of the aarti welcome ceremony to the profound grace of our ‘Guest House’ dinner, stepping into the sanctuary of SoHum felt like a warm, intentional embrace. This is the story of my arrival—where the ‘always-on’ noise of my everyday life finally began to dissolve into quiet.
The journey to SoHum didn’t start at the airport; it started in my kitchen. Follow the essential preparation phase—from clinical consultations and mindful packing to the “liquid gold” rituals that set the stage for my transformative experience.
A getaway vacation wasn’t enough; I needed a restoration. From the spark of a book to the lineage of Dr. Vasant Lad, the path led me to the ‘Isis’ room at SoHum. My sanctuary was chosen—now, the real work of the pre-Panchakarma protocol was about to begin.
I was running on empty; burned out and stuck in ‘fight or flight’ mode. I knew I didn’t just need a vacation; I needed a restoration.
