In November 2019, when I was a month into my “From Survive to Thrive: Happiness Project” journey, I created a motivational image to remind myself that I was developing tools to leave survival mode behind and embracing a thriving mindset.
In my Minecraft-inspired image (below), survival mode is grayscale, and the land of thriving is full color. There is a bridge (my toolkit) to help me access the thriving mindset. Since 2019, I’ve continued to develop my toolkit and spend more time thriving.

One of my favorite tools is taking time to play with LEGO. It’s fun, it’s freeing, and it puts me in a state of flow. My thriving heart was ecstatic when I saw the new LEGO releases for August, which included Tranquil Gardens. I’ve built it over the course of the past week – which has been a rough one for me – and I’m thrilled to have this visual reminder of my resilience and commitment to thriving.
