My commitment this year is to take care of my body rather than taking it for granted. I’ve been working with Cindi Lockhart, an integrative and functional nutritionist, since January.
One area of focus has been rebuilding my microbiome and improving my gut diversity. One easy way to do this is incorporating a “microbiome mashup” into your daily diet:
Select 15-30 organic vegetables representing a rainbow of colors (I used all of these vegetables, but only a small amount of each one)

Finely chop them in small batches in a food processor
Mix thoroughly in a large bowl

Store in the freezer (I like these small glass containers, but Cindi uses a plant-based zip lock bag inside a standard zip lock, which gives the storage bag durability while keeping the plastic from direct food contact)

Eat 1-2 tablespoons daily
I usually put my microbiome mashup in a smoothie, but you can also try mixing it into oatmeal or a glass of water. Google “microbiome mashup” for other suggestions and pictures!
